The single-chamber system, commonly referred to as the Bi-Xenon or Jumper System, utilizes a single Xenon globe (consisting of one Xenon arc) and some electromagnetic/ mechanical means to switch between the high and low beams. In effect, the globe assembly tilts upwards/forward for high beams and downwards/backward for low beams using a bi-position actuator. Powered by a single ballast and a motorized jumper, this system forces a change in the angle of the xenon globe each time the light is switched between the high and low beams.

Advantages: Affordable; No transition delay when switching between the high and low beams; Less space in the engine bay is required to install TWO ballasts.

Disadvantages: Failure of one ballast would mean the failure of both high and low beams; Brightness is not increased but instead a slightly higher-angled light beam is projected when the high beam is switched on; the lifespan of the xenon globe may be reduced if the light is constantly switched between the high and low beams due to constant movements of the xenon globe.
